However, through a series of events, he realized that being religious was not enough. At that time a family member shared the Gospel with him and he became a Christian.  During High School, Mark became involved in Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque’s Youth group. Later, while attending New Mexico State University, he was challenged by staff members of Campus Crusade for Christ to go on a short term mission trip.  Mark soon went on a short term mission trip to Hungary.  After that, his University studies no longer appealed to him. He was advised to attend Calvary Chapel Bible College. At which time he withdrew from University and enrolled in Bible College. After finishing his degree in 1994, he returned to Albuquerque and became involved in his home church. In 1999, some missionary friends Mark had met in Hungary invited him to help start Calvary Chapel of Harrogate England. There Mark met his wife Amanda (who was serving as a Missionary with Calvary Chapel York England). After two years, they moved to York England, where Mark became an Instructor at Calvary Chapel Bible College York and later on an Assistant Pastor.  Their three children were born during their time in England.  After 7 years in York, God led them to move to the East Coast of the United States.  Mark accepted the position of Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Southern Ocean County NJ in July of 2008.
